- Christmas in Cornish -

Each year, this FREE community event starts off the weekend features a tree lighting on Friday and activities and community events continue on Saturday & Sunday.

Cornish Area Businesses (CAB) sponsors the Annual Christmas in Cornish on the first Friday and Saturday in December at historic Cornish Village located in the scenic Western mountain and lakes region of Maine on Route 25 — 30 miles West of Portland and 9 miles East of the New Hampshire border. 

Admission to Christmas in Cornish is FREE.

 

The festival is outside and will take place in rain or shine. Christmas in Cornish is an annual event sponsored by the Cornish Area Businesses (CAB), a non-profit organization of Cornish area business owners who volunteer their time to promote general business and community welfare in the Cornish, Maine area.

  • Friday, December 6, 2019

    • Local shops and restaurants offing goodies and discounts

    • Reading of the popular holiday-themed book, The Polar Express at Bonney Memorial Library

    • Tree lighting with free goodies, hot cocoa, and a community sing-a-long of the season’s classic songs

  • Saturday, December 7, 2019 

    • 10:00 am-2:00 pm †Polar Express Trail - Children can make or pick-up a craft or a treat and have their train ticket punched at local businesses. Visit every shop on the train ticket and get a gift from Santa when you turn in your ticket at The Inn at Cornish by 2 pm!

    • All-day — Local shops and restaurants offering goodies and discounts

    • 9:00 am - 2:00 p.m.The Cornish United Church of Christ Ladies Guild Annual Christmas Fair and Luncheon will be held in the Main Street Vestry, with the luncheon being served from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    • 10:00 am-2:00 pm Open House at the Cornish Historical Society with costumed storyteller and Christmas treats.

    • 11:00 am-2:00 pm — Craft Fair, lunch, and shopping at 8 Hancock Ave in Hiram. Stop by and make an ornament while listening to live music by Carlos Angeles.

Children who have a ticket will be able to visit participating businesses where they will make or pick-up a craft and get their ticket punched.
