For Native Americans, painting a warhorse was a sacred act, believed to hold powerful symbols drawn from nature and even the paints themself. A handprint meant vengeance against an enemy or, sometimes, success in combat. I have always enjoyed the painted horse and the symbols of native Americans.
Everything about the way they lived their lives had a simplicity but great meaning. Their tools were handcrafted and incredible. I created this for my sister who wanted in her words 'badass horses running'. The power, colors, and expressions of the horses charging through the mud are a force to be reckoned with. I believe my sister loves colors as much as I do. She does hair and is known for her vibrant hair dyes. She is the hair artist of the family. Once she even dyed my moms Minnie horses hair. She is dedicated.
